Navajo

in case you haven't realised, navajo is the new victim.  i hope it doesn't get thrashed, the bohemian nature of it makes it kind of timeless, but if the americana/american flag theme of recent times is anything to go by, it's bound to happen and the likes of nasty gal's 'navajo nation' post affirmed that it is, indeed, a fashion current.  i'm reluctant to invest in anything (except dream catcher earrings), for fear of spoiling it. i prefer the idea of travelling through the southwest and stumbling across feathers and semi precious stones and beaded moccasins and ponchos at a market in arizona than buying knock offs at some chain store.  out of respect for the humble and unassuming navajo people it doesn't seem right to buy anything inauthentic either. last rant though- if anyone is going to do it right, it's wildfox.

i like american indian proverbs, so here are some navajo ones, what kind beautiful people they are!!
  1. "always assume your guest is tired, cold and hungry, and act accordingly"
  2. "be still and the earth will speak to you"
  3. "you cannot see the future with tears in your eyes"
