laura mulleavy on their collection "every shade of brown you can imagine, seventies suburbia, wood paneling, gold, off colours like chartreuse- basically, a combination of all that represent the area to us" the collection was inspired by their (the mulleavy sisters) childhood spent in northern california. aveda was responsible for the hair and their lead stylist odile gilbert explains the inspiration as “the rodarte hair look for this season is young and innocent. the body is full of natural-looking texture, the ends are straight, and a strong, swooping side part gives the hair a retro feel. the look is inspired by teenagers in the 1970’s, so the effect is very organic, adorned with handcrafted tree branch and leaf barrettes that make a statement". the tarnished golden lips are very similar to my new limited edition 'liquid lurex' dazzle lipstick by mac.and as for the final picture, i wouldn't mind my hair dresser looking like him.
