i read about his photography on the urban outfitters blog, as they describe "jake stangel has a breathtaking collection of photographs documenting different lifestyles across the country, from families that manage orange groves in florida, to surfers who brave frigid water to surf the oregon coast.  stangle isn't just an observer, he immerses himself in the culture by lending his hand on farms and biking across states for months at a time and the result is an intimate look at the people we share the u.s. with". his photos remind me of the books and movies i've read and seen about america, especially the nicholas evans books like the horse whisperer.
