last night i watched the documentary earthlings (available on their website) it is narrated by joaquin phoenix and the music is done by moby, they're both passionate animal activists and vegans. joaquin's narration is so compelling and i don't think the film trys to convert everyone into vegans at all. instead i think it's aims to break down ignorance and make us think about our exploitation of animals for food, clothing, entertainment, science, etc. as much as i wish everyone could be vegetarians it's not realistic... so take what is relevant and 'speaks to you' from the film and make your own changes. the simplest and most poignant line of the film i think is "it takes nothing away from a human to be kind to an animal" and this nicely ties in with gandhi's quote "whatever you do in life will be insignificant but it is very important that you do it".
